Framclipse problems working with an expdef file. Disappearing code folding, outline, tool tips and code completion.
Sorry to keep asking all these questions but I'm loving Framsticks and can't fit enough of it into my days...
Has anybody come across this problem with Framclipse? (I'm using Eclipse Galileo on a Vista machine with the latest framclipse update) -

Hi MacKo - Can you please tell me what the syntax of a "modify inhibit" and "delete inhibit" flags looks like? I can't find any examples. (I understand from a previous post that the flags are added in f0.)
Also, once I've added a flag like this, does that mean that from then on I need to work in f0, not f1?
Thanks & cheers
Ian

I think I understand that POV-Ray render files are generated by framsticks-user.inc type files located inside the povray directory. So, to generate render files for a new style called, say, myStyle, I guess that I should copy framsticks-standard.inc, save it as framsticks-myStyle.inc and then modify it (in some way that I'll have to learn).

Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I can't get any scenes exported.
I have:
-downloaded and installed POV-Ray 3.6
-made a folder called FramsticksMovies inside the POV-ray\3.6 folder
-copied framsticks-standard.inc into that folder
-set VisualSyle in Framsticks to standard
-in Interface Options : Export world: POV-ray set output directory to be FramsticksMovies
-clicked the Enable Export button (the Export enabled tick appears)
-clicked the Export Current Scene button (the windows hourglass appears for a couple of seconds and the Export enabled tick disappears)

I'm trying to script my first experiment, and would appreciate some initial guidance to get me going. I've looked at available expdefs but don't seem to be able to find what I need.
I'm building on the reproduction.expdef example and as a simple start I'm trying to add a second population of creatures, which do just the same as the first creature group (ie. eat food and multiply) except that they will have a different genotype. Once I get it going I'd later like to play with the properties (eg. e_meta) of the two populations to see them compete for food.

I really love Framsticks and doing all kinds of experiments with it, but experiment definition "reproduction" won't let me save experiment state! :(
When I try to save the experiment state, I get this error: http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/5759/errorork.png
I'm not sure what its idea of "saving the data immediately" is but it certainly isn't what I have in mind because I can't save the data! When I click "OK" the experiment continues without any problems whatsoever.

I've just built my first neuron (script below), which damps a signal (eg. Sin) coming into input 0 according to the strength of a damping signal (eg. Smell) coming into input 1. The neuron outputs the damped signal.
The genotype checker doesn't like it. It flags it as being in error and says the genotype is useless but then when I simulate it, it actually works.
Have I done something wrong or do I need to do something to teach the checker how to look at user defined neurons?
Any suggestions much appreciated!

I've got a quadraped walking nicely now. It is based on A.S.Wigand's "Basic Quadraped" creature - I added some rear leg muscles, then evolved the neural parameters to maximise speed. I've also added some smell sensors onto the front legs and I'm trying to work out how to get it to turn towards food. Genotype is:

I'm a new user, and have been evolving a creature's neurons. After evolution, many neurons have duplicated parameters, for example:
[N, fo:0.150869, in:0, si:3, -2:4.233,fo:0.04,in:0.979792,in:0.8]
Am I right in thinking that it will be the last (reading left to right) setting that applies and that the earlier settings are redundant and can therefore be deleted without harm (I've tried this and it seems to be the case).
Thanks in advance for any advice that can be offered.
Cheers

I'm very new to framsticks. Is there a newer/more updated site related to framsticks?
Where can i begin learning the basics? Are there any tutorials to set up basic experiments or modify the preloaded experiments? The software seems very powerful but with a steep learning curve.
Thanks.
