Interface – Genotype Information – archaic Amiga version
(Up to main window)

The most important section is at the bottom, the attributes fields for the selected genotype. Above that, the physical structure and neuron net are displayed. (You can hide them using the menu)

Key to colors and symbols (creature view):

  • Stick.
    • Red : stamina
    • Green: assimilation
    • Blue : ingestion

Muscles (tiny squares placed between sticks)
    Red : speed
  • Small circles on the sticks are neurons. Single letters by the neurons are receptors G T or S (see genotype description)
Neuron thread color shows its output signal: -1=cyan 0=blue +1=purple
The buttons between the attributes and graphics display are used for genotype editing.
To create new genotype click on 'Clr' – fields will be cleared. Enter a genotype into the 'Genotype' field – you will have an instant structure preview (there is an arrow on the structure display, following cursor moves; the arrow can point at a stick, a joint or a neuron according to the location of the cursor in the genotype). You can press 'Test' at any time to see the organism's neuron net.

The additional gadget performs a validity check on the genotype:

  • 'err' means minor error, genotype will be corrected when you press this button
  • 'ERR' – serious error, the program doesn't know how to correct it
  • blank – genotype is valid
You can give any name to your creature ('Name' field). If you leave it blank, the name will be generated automatically.

A newly created (or edited) genotype can be added to genotypes list ('Add' button, or drag a schematic picture onto this list with the mouse). Button 'Repl' replaces the genotype in the list with your modified genotype. You can also place the creature in the simulator (drag schematic to the world window or to the simulator list).

The neuron net display window shows the current state of the circuit if the simulator is activated and the living creature is selected (on the simulator list). You can even modify a single neuron state (an excitation) and watch the results: – select any neuron and move the horizontal slider above the neuron net. To free the neuron, uncheck the checkbox on the left.
