When I open the pdf of the user manual there are many pages with no usable image.
For example in section three a table appears following the drawing, but no content just a wire frame.

Yes... problems with this pdf are viewer-dependent (ghostview/ghostscript perform quite well under Windows, but have problems under Linux. On the other hand, KDE's Okular works fine).

Indeed. We are aware of the fact that the pdf manual is not of the highest quality. It is generated by a third-party software from html web pages.
The web pages look better and are more up to date, that's why they are recommended over the manual.

By the way, we found that converting the pdf to ps and then back to pdf allowed us to print the manual. (Even if is is somewhat outdated ;-) )
